Design and Display

The Oppo Reno 5F takes a step out of the design theme seen on the other members of the Reno 5 series. It bears a different design, which may sort of appeal to enthusiasts who sort of become saturated with the design of the members of the series.

Onboard the chassis aesthetics, is a dual coloured gradient colour scheme on the rear, on which you will find a camera module housing four cameras. Besides the module is an LED flash. There is also the Oppo branding on the rear, which indicates it’s an Oppo smartphone.

Enthusiasts who decide to purchase the Oppo Reno 5F will have three colour options and they include Black, Silver, Purple.

Moving upfront, we have a single camera punch-hole on the display as opposed to a dual-camera cut-out on its siblings. The display here is 6.4-inches in size, with a resolution of 1080 x 2400, density of 411 PPI.

 

 

The Cameras

The cameras on the Oppo Reno 5F fall in as one of the features that were tuned down a bit for a more affordable price. However, enthusiasts are still served with a capable set of cameras. On the rear, we have a 48MP camera with an aperture of f/1.8, as opposed to the 64MP primary camera on the standard Reno 5.

The other members of this setup include an 8MP ultrawide camera with an aperture of f/2.2, a 2MP macro camera with an aperture of f/2.4, and an MP depth camera with an aperture of f/2.4. The video record on this camera is capped at 4k @ 30fps.

Moving up front, we have a single camera setup, bearing a 16MP camera as opposed to the 32MP camera on its more premium sibling. This camera has an aperture of f/2.0 and is capable of shooting videos up to 1080p @ 30fps

 

Hardware and Software

On the performance side, the Oppo Reno 5f makes do with a MediaTek Helio P95 processor, which comes in as a less premium processor when compared to the Snapdragon 765G processor on the standard Reno 5.

The other members of the performance train include a PowerVR GM9446 GPU, a non-removable 4310mAh Li-Po battery paired with a 30W fast charge mechanism. As for RAM and storage, enthusiasts will have the option of either a 6GB / 128GB variant or an 8GB / 128GB variant.

On the software side, we have the ColorOS 11.1 user interface running on the Android 11 operating system.

Connectivity

The Oppo Reno 5F features low-energy Bluetooth 5.1 and WiFi. It also features a 3.5mm headphone jack and USB Type-C port with on-the-go support.

Internet connectivity here is capped at 4G LTE, which means enthusiasts won’t have the luxury of using 5G connectivity for downloads, upload, and streaming.
